Minesweeper
Description
Reveal safe cells and clear the 16x16 minefield without hitting a mine. The board contains 40 mines, but they are placed after the first revealed cell, so the first move and its neighboring cells are safe. Numbered cells show how many mines are touching them, and the game is won when every safe cell has been revealed.
Controls
Press a hidden cell to reveal it. Press and hold a hidden cell to place or remove a flag, or use right-click when playing with a mouse. Press an already revealed numbered cell to reveal its hidden neighbors when the correct number of flags is touching it. Use New Game to create a fresh board, or Restart to return to the current mine layout after it has been created.
Tips
Use flags to mark cells that must contain mines, but avoid guessing too early. When a numbered cell already has enough flagged neighbors, pressing it can clear the remaining neighboring cells quickly. Corners and edges often give useful information because they have fewer neighboring cells to check.
